Tokenized stocks

Tokenized stocks are digital tokens on the Ethereum blockchain backed by and redeemable for shares of the underlying stock. These tokens are highly divisible and transferable, enabling enhanced accessibility, liquidity, transparency, and efficiency in trading stocks. Tokenized stocks are ERC-20 standard ensuring compatibility with DeFi applications.

Tokenized Stocks

The tokenization process occurs when a user withdraws a position from its DCLEX account to its Ethereum wallet. Upon withdrawal, the specified number of shares is debited from the user's DCLEX account and the corresponding amount of tokens issued to its Ethereum wallet. Tokenized stock can always be deposited back on DCLEX and sold for USDC at the market price. While tokens are fractional, shares are not, so keep in mind that only whole share units can be withdrawn and deposited on the platform.

Tokenized stocks require both the sender and receiver of transfers to possess a valid Digital Identity (DID or SCID). This unique mechanism ensures compliance with security regulations at the smart contract layer.
